This knife is unassisted. There is no spring to help flick the blade out. There are levers at the base of the blade as well as a little post attached to the blade that you can press on while flipping the knife in your hand to open the blade and use centrifugal force to open it the rest of the way. There is a lock mechanism to keep if from closing on your hand. You have to move the locking bar to the side in order to fold it back closed again. There is a belt clip on one side but it doesn’t look like you can move it to the other side.
I’ve only had this knife for a couple days and have used to open some boxes, and then cut the tape on them so I could break down the boxes. I am liking it for an inexpensive pocket knife to clip in my pocket for utility tasks.
I’ve got an assisted opening Kershaw knife that cost twice as much that I like better, but I’m not exactly sure where it is right now. For the same money buying one of these to keep in the house, and another one to keep in the car would be an option.
